Campbell White: Data Science Portfolio

...

Hi, my name is Campbell White. I am a current senior, class of 2023, at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA. I will hold a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a major in Sociology and minors in Data Science and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies upon graduation. I’m originally from Norfolk, VA.

I decided to add a Data Science minor rather late during my time at W&L. In the middle of my second semester junior year my adviser asked if I had ever considered the minor. I admitted that I had, but that I thought sociology and data science to be somewhat incompatible. However, I soon leanred how naive I had been. There is immense potential and use for data science skills in the sociological field and this realization has completely changed how I view my future. I hope my work provides illuminating analyses on topics that are situated at the intersection of sociology, women and gender studies, and data science.

Notable Projects at a Glance

Within this portfolio, I’ve included a selection of projects I have completed as I learned and developed new skills. These projects highlight my sociological interests explored through various data science techniques to demostrate the usefulness of data skills in the field.
This website itself represents my experience working with HTML and CSS. I have created this website from scratch in hopes of highlighting my knowledge of both dimensions of web design, user experience and user interface.
